HABILITATION
Habilitation is a service that is funded by the Arizona
Department of Economic Security's Division of
Developmental Disabilities (DDD).  It is designed to help
individuals with disabilities to learn new skills for
everyday living.  Skills are learned by working on
objectives that are designed to help them with their
goals.  

Habilitation is a broad service that can have a wide variety
of goals.  Goals can be things like:

  • learning to identify colors or shapes
  • learning how to ride the bus to work
  • learning new recreational activities
  • learning how to cook
  • practicing social skills
